In a recent interview with one of our clients, Tony talks about his experience with SLC and the team.
I’d like to express my strong support of Sarah Hannah and the team at Second Life Careers. I recently spent several weeks looking at some excellent opportunities that were presented by SLC. In the end, two projects that I was already engaged in went full steam ahead, and I am continuing in those endeavors. Nonetheless, I truly appreciate the time that they spent with me, and the great spirit of collaboration and care that she and the SLC team showed to me in all of our conversations. I would highly recommend them to anyone that is searching for their next business adventure!
I highly recommend working with Sarah and the Second Life Careers team. Sarah spent the time to get to know me, my goals, and lifestyle to recommend business opportunities that made sense for me. Sarah and the Second Life Careers team is very professional, considerate and related to my situation immediately. This made the process very smooth.
Sarah and the SLC team were some of the nicest, most considerate teams I’ve worked with in the recruiting/entrepreneurial space. They took the time to get to know me and presented opportunities that aligned with my skillset and overarching goals. I highly recommend working with SLC, they truly do care about helping people.
These are all really good opportunities. Thanks for setting them up for me. Lot of work to do in following up, but they are all legitimate and worth spending the time on.
Update, December 2020: You will be happy to know I now have 4 customers. It is a successful start. It feels great, too! In no small part to you. Thank you, and Have a Merry Christmas.
May 2020: My name is Tony and I am a CPA with a Master’s in management and 25 years of experience as a VP Corporate Controller of a $700M company. I strongly recommend two things:
I was struggling in the job market for over a year with no success, then I met Sarah Hannah. I was at a cross-road. Should I continue my job search sending out hundreds of resumes and LinkedIn connect requests or is there another alternative. Sarah reached out to me about 9 months into my search but I was not yet ready to give up my quest. Then I started to do research on options for executives over 50 and the consensus suggested the best avenue is to consult or start your own business. It’s a shame because usually executives who have arrived at that stage of their careers have dealt with many business trials and tribulations, and consequently have developed sound judgment and an understanding of how to lead and get the job done. So I came to the conclusion that if no one was going to give me the chance to utilize my skills, talents, and abilities that I would reconnect with Sarah and explore how I could take all that potential and put it to work.
If your situation is similar to mine, you are probably all well aware that there are tons of folks out there looking to help you for a price and with no guarantee. What distinguished Sarah from all the others was her carefully considered and credible process that might actually work, unlike the others who seemed more like predators banking on your desperation level. Guarantees are unreasonable under any circumstances, but Sarah’s approach was the best. The first part of the process was a screening interview where, without any judgment, she obtained an understanding of my skills and preferences. From there, she engaged her business partner to meet with me and do an even deeper dive. Next, Sarah and her associate presented a list of 5 different options each requiring varying degrees of capital.
During the whole process, Sarah was always patient and low pressure even after I rejected her initial efforts. She would keep in touch and see how my search was proceeding. On a side note, that’s a great strategy when approaching folks like me, given my circumstances.
